Silver Stars Fall in OT at Sacramento
Silver Stars Becky Hammon scored a career high 38 points and Sophia Young also reached a carrer high 29 points, but the Silver Stars still came up short and lost to the Sacramento Monarchs in over time on Thursday. The loss puts the Silver Stars back under .500 with a 8-9 record. The Silver Stars once again dug a hole early and were down by as much as 15. However Hammon and Young took over and put the team in a position to win. Belinda Snell contributed 11 points but the Silver Stars bench only managed a combined 15 points. Defensive breakdowns late and lack of bench contributions were too much for Hammon and Young to overcome. The Silver Stars were also without head coach Dan Hughes who had to leave the team to tend his ailing father. Olaf Lange and Sandy Brondello assumed coaching duties. Coach Hughes is expected to rejoin the team Saturday when the Stars take on the Seattle Storm. For complete coverage visit the Silver Stars Website
